Your Voice, Your Chapter: Write for the GSACEP Newsletter

GSACEP is more than an annual meeting—it’s a year-round community, and our newsletter is your platform. As a national level voice of emergency physicians serving in government and military settings, the GSACEP newsletter highlights our members’ clinical insights, operational experiences, and thought leadership.

As the third-largest chapter of ACEP, GSACEP represents more than 2,300 members, including attending physicians, resident physicians, and medical students. We’re proud to report that over 60% of our membership regularly reads our quarterly newsletter, and we aim to add value as a platform for connection and information.

We want you to join the conversation.

How You Can Contribute:

  • Letters to the Editor: Share your thoughts on evolving issues in military or federal EM, reflect on recent conference sessions, or respond to published perspectives.
  • Feature Articles: Tell us about your deployment experience, showcase a quality improvement initiative, or spotlight a training innovation from your institution. Whether clinical, policy-related, or educational—your experience matters.
  • Resident Corner: Are you a trainee with a unique angle on military medicine? We're especially interested in new voices.
  • Member Spotlight: Profile someone else, or be featured yourself.
  • Clinical Pearls: Short, practical insights from your day-to-day practice. If it helped you, it might help someone else.
  • Opinion and Advocacy: Highlight concerns about EM career sustainability in military medicine, readiness metrics, or procedural volume maintenance—your input can spark solutions.

Whether you want to submit a one-time piece or become a regular contributor, we welcome all levels of writing experience. Not sure where to start? We’re happy to brainstorm ideas or help you shape a draft.
